Terms and Conditions
Please read these terms before using Axolotls.com, creating an account, participating in the community, or placing an order.
Effective date:
1. Scope and acceptance
These Terms and Conditions govern use of Axolotls.com and purchases made through its checkout. “We,” “us,” and “our” refer to the operator of Axolotls.com; “you” refers to the visitor, account holder, contributor, or purchaser. By using the website or placing an order, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, do not create an account, submit content, or place an order.
Order-specific conditions shown in the product listing or checkout, together with the applicable Refund and Returns Policy, form part of your purchase terms. If a specific purchase condition conflicts with a general provision here, the specific condition applies to that purchase, subject to applicable law. Ask us to clarify unclear conditions before paying.
2. Eligibility and accounts
To place an order, you must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. If you purchase on behalf of a business, you must be authorized to act for it. Younger visitors should use the website with a parent or guardian.
Provide accurate account, billing, shipping, and contact information. Keep your login details secure, update information when it changes, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use. Do not share another person’s credentials or use an account without permission.
3. Acceptable website use
Use the website lawfully and respectfully. You must not:
- Commit fraud, impersonate others, submit false records, or use unauthorized payment methods.
- Post threats, harassment, unlawful material, spam, or another person’s private information.
- Upload malicious code, bypass access controls, interfere with the website, or attempt to access other users’ data.
- Use automated collection or requests that disrupt service, evade restrictions, or infringe privacy or intellectual property rights.
- Use the website to arrange unlawful animal sales, transport, possession, or release.
We may moderate content or restrict access when reasonably necessary to address misuse, protect users, or comply with law. Account restrictions do not remove rights relating to an existing paid order.
4. Listings and order acceptance
Review the product description, selected options, quantity, seller information where provided, and total cost before ordering. Unless a listing expressly identifies the exact animal pictured, photographs are representative. Individual animals may differ in coloration, markings, size, and appearance. Sex, lineage, genetics, and other characteristics are guaranteed only when expressly stated in the listing.
An automated order receipt confirms that your order was received; it does not by itself confirm stock availability or shipment. We may decline or cancel an order for unavailable stock, a material listing error, suspected fraud, legal restrictions, or animal-welfare concerns. If an order cannot be fulfilled, we will notify you and refund amounts paid for the unfulfilled portion, including associated charges as required by law. We will not substitute an animal or materially change your order without your agreement.
5. Prices, payment, and promotions
The checkout displays the order currency, item prices, applicable taxes, shipping, and any other charges before you submit the order. You authorize payment of the displayed total using a payment method you are entitled to use. Payment verification may be required before fulfillment.
Prices and availability may change for future orders. Promotions are subject to the conditions disclosed with the offer. If a material pricing error affects an order, we will contact you to obtain agreement to the corrected price or cancel and refund the affected purchase; we will not charge an increased amount without your authorization.
6. Live animals and lawful ownership
Before purchasing a live animal, confirm that possession and delivery are lawful at your destination and obtain any required permits. Do not order to a prohibited location or misrepresent the delivery address. We may refuse shipment where legal requirements cannot be met.
You are responsible for preparing an appropriate habitat before arrival and providing ongoing humane care. Review Before You Buy and our Ethics and Standards. Never release captive animals into the wild.
7. Shipping and delivery
Available delivery methods, charges, and any stated shipment schedule are provided with your order. Shipment and delivery dates are distinct; carrier delivery estimates are estimates unless expressly guaranteed. Live-animal shipping may require coordination and may be postponed because of unsafe weather, animal health, or transit conditions.
If we cannot ship within the stated shipment period, or the period required by applicable law when none is stated, we will notify you, explain the revised timing and cancellation option, obtain consent where required, and provide any required prompt refund. Animal-welfare delays do not remove these rights.
Provide a complete delivery address, follow receiving instructions, and arrange for prompt receipt. Review the Buying and Shipping Guide and Arrival and Quarantine Guide. Report delivery damage, missing items, or animal-condition concerns promptly with your order number, arrival details, and photographs where reasonably available.
8. Cancellations, returns, and arrival concerns
Request order changes or cancellation as soon as possible through Contact Us. A request may arrive too late to stop packing or shipment. Eligibility for returns, exchanges, and refunds follows the Refund and Returns Policy, applicable product-specific conditions disclosed before purchase, and your rights under law.
Live animals require special handling. Do not send an animal back without written instructions and an agreed safe transport plan. Any voluntary live-arrival guarantee, reporting deadline, or remedy must be expressly stated for your purchase; these terms do not create an additional guarantee. A voluntary policy or reporting window does not limit mandatory rights for faulty, misdescribed, missing, or undelivered goods. Contact us if a policy is unclear.
9. Intellectual property and contributions
Website text, photographs, artwork, logos, and design belong to their respective owners. You may view them and make reasonable personal, noncommercial use where lawful. Other reproduction, redistribution, commercial use, or use of branding requires the rights holder’s permission unless allowed by law.
You retain ownership of content you submit. By posting photographs, reviews, forum messages, or registry information, you confirm that you have the necessary rights and grant us a nonexclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, format, and reproduce that content as needed to operate the feature to which you submitted it. This permission does not transfer ownership of your content.
Contributions must be accurate to the best of your knowledge and comply with these terms. We may remove or correct content that violates them. User reviews, discussions, and submitted pedigree records are not independent verification of every claim or an endorsement by Axolotls.com.
10. Care information and third-party services
Care guides and community discussions provide general educational information. They do not replace examination, diagnosis, or treatment by a qualified veterinarian. Registry entries reflect the information available for a record and do not guarantee health, parentage, genetics, or breeding suitability unless expressly verified and stated.
Links and integrations may lead to third-party websites, payment services, or carrier tools. Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. Review them before submitting information. An external link does not by itself imply our endorsement.
11. Personal information and communications
Account and checkout features require information needed to administer accounts, process payments, fulfill orders, and respond to support requests. Review the privacy notices presented where information is collected. Do not post passwords, payment details, addresses, or private order information in public areas.
We may contact you about an account, purchase, shipment, or support request using the details you provide. Agreeing to these terms does not itself constitute consent to marketing messages.
12. Availability and limits of responsibility
We work to keep the website accurate and available, but cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that general information will suit every situation. To the extent permitted by law, general website information and community features are provided without additional warranties.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for indirect or consequential losses arising from website use. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or any applicable mandatory consumer guarantees. These provisions do not remove obligations relating to paid orders or expressly promised product characteristics.
13. Changes and applicable law
We may update these terms by publishing a revised version and effective date. Changes apply prospectively; purchase terms applicable when your order was placed continue to govern that order unless you agree otherwise or law requires a change.
These terms are subject to applicable law, including mandatory consumer protections available to you. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent lawful. No provision requires you to waive rights or remedies that cannot be waived.
14. Questions and support
For questions about these terms or an order, visit Contact Us. Include the relevant page or order number and a brief description of the issue. Registered customers can review available order details through My Account. Please keep sensitive information out of public forum posts.
