Pedigree registry

A clearer lineage for every animal.

The Axolotls.com registry is being developed to connect identity, lineage, ownership, and breeding records so keepers can make more informed decisions.

Explore a lineage

Open one branch at a time.

This sample ancestry tree demonstrates how a registry record can reveal known parents without losing the shape of the family. The layout widens automatically as branches open.

How to explore: select any named animal to show or hide its recorded parents. Each open limb makes room for the generation beneath it.

Demonstration records show the interaction and do not represent verified lineage. Unknown relationships stay visibly unknown.

Reduce uncertainty

Lineage information serves animal welfare.

Captive populations inevitably include related animals. Better records help breeders avoid accidental close pairings and give owners a durable history for each axolotl.

Track lineage

Connect offspring with known parents and breeder records where the information is available.

Support identity

A microchip or other durable identifier can link a living animal to its registry record.

Document transfers

Ownership changes can be recorded without losing the animal’s history.

What a useful record contains

Separate facts from assumptions.

A registry entry should distinguish verified identifiers and documented parentage from owner-reported traits or unknown history.

Core identity

Registry number, identifier, hatch date or estimate, sex when known, and current status.

Lineage

Breeder, parents, clutch or pairing, and supporting records where available.

Stewardship history

Ownership transfers and relevant disclosures, handled with appropriate privacy controls.

Build trust over time

Accurate records improve through careful updates.

Owners and breeders should retain purchase records, clear photographs, hatch information, and transfer details. Never guess at unknown lineage to make a record look complete.

Register

Submit the information you can document and mark unknown fields honestly.

Update

Record verified changes such as sex determination, ownership transfer, or identifier placement.

Use responsibly

A registry supports breeding decisions; it does not guarantee health, compatibility, or genetic outcome.
